Holme Pierrepont National Water Sports Centre

Begun in 1985 this area of 270 acres of country parkland, just 3 miles from Nottingham on the River Trent now offers some of the most comprehensive water sports facilities in the world.

The artificial Slalom Course was opened by Princess Anne in 1986.  It has timing and commentary boxes, starter's tower, judging and course control tower, electronic scoreboard, photo-finish and electronic timing equipment.

There is also a 2,000 metre regatta lake, water ski lake and ski tow.  The Water Sports Centre, which recently gained Olympic Accreditation for canoeing, also caters for other water sports including windsurfing, rowing, sailing, waterskiing, power boating, white water rafting and angling.

The centre welcomes both groups and individuals, who can also experience the thrills of white water rafting on the slalom course.

In addition there there is a purpose built campsite which can cater for both caravan and canvas customers.  The campsite covers 28 acres of flat grass and provides 360 pitches with 52 electric hook-ups.  The site is supplemented with a good shower block, well-stocked shop selling hot and cold food, soft drinks, gas and groceries.
